Tips For Succulent Plants

SUCCULENT CARE

LIGHT
Succulents typically thrive in bright, indirect sunlight. Place them near a sunny window or provide them with artificial grow lights if needed. Avoid exposing them to intense, direct sunlight for extended periods as it can
cause sunburn.

WATERING
Succulents have adapted to survive in arid conditions, so they prefer well-draining soil and infrequent watering. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, and then water thoroughly, ensuring that excess water drains away. Overwatering can lead to root rot.

SOIL
Use a well-draining soil mix specifically formulated for succulents or cacti. These mixes usually contain materials like perlite, sand, or pumice, which promote drainage and prevent waterlogging.

TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY
Succulents generally prefer warm temperatures between 60-80°F (15-27°C). They can tolerate lower temperatures but may suffer damage if exposed to frost or extreme cold. Most succulents appreciate low to moderate humidity levels.

POTTING
Choose a pot with drainage holes to prevent water from pooling around the roots. Avoid using pots that are significantly larger than the plant, as excess soil can retain moisture and lead to root rot.

FERTILIZATION
Succulents have low nutrient requirements. Feed them sparingly with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer formulated for cacti and succulents during the growing season (spring and summer). Follow the package instructions for application rates.

PRUNING
Remove dead or withered leaves to maintain the plant's overall health and appearance. Some succulents may produce offsets or pups that can be separated and propagated to create new plants.

Remember, different succulent species may have specific care needs, so it's essential to research and understand the requirements of the particular succulents you have. Observe your plants closely, adjust care as needed, and enjoy their unique beauty!
